The work began in 2011 with a survey of 444 street cobblers across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These notes were written as it happened, from July 2012.

PTP’s cobbler pilot covered Rawalpindi and Chichawatni in Punjab and Haripur and Darra Adam Khel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where surveys were seized in 2012.
PTP’s 2012 pilot survey of street cobblers found 47.39% were aged 12 to 28 and 70.14% were aged 12 to 40, reflecting Pakistan’s youth bulge.
